FAITH (The Difference Between Sons And Servants Of God)

Galatians 4:1, “I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, 2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Notice the first verse: the son (heir) is no different from a slave though he is lord (owner) of all. But he is being matured through teaching and management to become the heir. Children are a slave (obedient) to their parents until they are mature enough to receive the inheritance and that is at the time appointed of their father. The appointed inheritance time is up to the Heavenly Father and believers should never concern themselves with that time, but learn who they are through the teaching of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:12).

Although Jesus was the son of God, He was still a servant until the day appointed of the Father in which He inherited all things. And in like manner all the angels of God are servants to Him and they are referred to in scripture as sons of God. And if one pays attention to the Scriptures angels were created to carry out God’s will. As sons of our father on earth we are obligated to obey and carry out His will.

According to the Scriptures there are obedient sons and disobedient sons. Obedient sons are those who carry out the will of the Heavenly Father and disobedient sons ignore His will. As servant-sons believers are those who carry out God's will (alive faith) and those who do not believe are disobedient.

Now, look a John 1:12 But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

According to these verses believers are not sons, but have the right to become sons of God. Believes are not sons until they obey the will of the Father as servants. Sons of God therefore are no different than servants, and this is alive faith.
