R&B sultry songstress Faith Evans, confirmed that she has landed the role of Florence Ballard, (former Supreme). In a new biopic about Motown's most celebrated girl group, Faith will play the life of Ballard, who was at one point the voice of the Supremes, but was later put to the back-burner for Diana Ross, once the group became very popular .
The Supremes led by Diana Ross, were amongst the most popular girl group of all time, who paved the way for so many that came after. Ballard eventually left the Surpremes after much tension that occured between Ballard, Dianna, and Berry Gordy (Motown's former CEO). It was rumored that the film Dreamgirls, was slated around Ballard's role in the Supremes. (Effie played by Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson), and how she was replaced for the ever more popular Dianna Ross. The Detroit native suffered with weight issues, alcoholism and depression. Florence Ballard died in 1976 just 32 years old.
Faith Evans film credits includes 2000’s Turn It Up and 2003’s The Fighting Temptations.
Faith recently had a brush-in with the law where she was arrested an booked on DUI charges, but was later released. This new biopic may be the vehicle Evans need to get her life back on track. Faith's latest single Gone Already, has been burning up the R&B charts, and her new album is slated to be released in Nov. We wish Faith the best.

FLORENCE BALLARD YOU ARE SUPREME by Graham Read
FLORENCE BALLARD YOU ARE SUPREME,
YOUR APART OF EVERY AMERICAN DREAM
WITH MARY AND DIANE , YOU WERE THE TOPS
YES YOU WERE THE SUPREMES
THE CREAM OF THE CROP,
IN THE 60′S YOU SANG, WITH VIGOUR ANS ZEST
NO ONE COULD BEAT YOU, YOU WERE THE BEST
BUT SADLY YOU LEFT THE SUPREMES AND THE FAME, AND NO ONE KNOWS WHO WAS REALLY TO BLAME.
YOUR LIFE WAS SO SAD, IT ALL FELL APART,
SOME SAY YOU DIED OF A BROKEN HEART,
YOU’LL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED, YOU DIDN’T DIED IN VAIN,
YOUR FANS STILL ADORE YOU, AND WORSHIP YOUR NAME,
FLORENCE BALLARD YOU ARE SUPREME,
YOU’RE APART OF EVERY AMERICIAN DREAM,
IF YOU’D HAVE LIVED, YOU’D HAVE GONE SO FAR,
TO THE MILLIONS WHO LOVE YOU, YOUR A SUPERSTAR,
ABOVE THE CLOUDS YOU WERE TAKEN ONE FEBRUARY,
BUT HERE ON EARTH YOUR STILL LEGENDARY.

THESE 3 LADIES by Graham Read
THERE WERE 3 LADIES KNOWN AS THE SUPREMES,
WHO BECAME APART OF THE AMERICAN DREAM
THEY SANG AND THEY SANG TO THE TOP OF THE CHARTS,
WE ALL LET THESE LADIES INTO OUT HEARTS,
NOW MANY YEARS LATER THE GROUP IS NO MORE,
BUT THEIR MUSIC LIVES ON, AND WE ALL STILL ADORE,
THESE 3 LADIES WHO SANG THEIR WAY INTO FAME,
YES WE LOVE THE SUPREMES AND WORSHIP THEIR NAME

spelling notes: one "n'" in Diana Ross; no "a" in Berry Gordy. I am amazed at the creative possibilities before Ms. Evans as Flo Ballard. As a long-time fan of the Supremes' and Motown sounds, I'm hopeful about the eventual outcome of the biopic. Finally, I hope someday, should egos remerge and then reemerge in better balance, Diana, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong will again be together on stage. As a beautiful bonus, the variously succeeding ladies, Jean Terrell, Lynda Laurence, Scherrie Payne and Susaye Green, who also carried the legend into history with panache and class, would be an amazing and fitting addition to that dream bill. Michael Anthony, Berkeley CA.
I believe Faith will do a great job with this role. It was so wrong how Florence Ballard was treated, but she will forever be remembered as a class act.
I think Faith portraying Flo is okay, but I always pictured Trisha Campbell playing her an her friend from the show Martin (Pam) to play Mary;cause we know both these ladies can blow. The real question is who will play Diana Ross, and please not Beyonce. I know 1 singer who would be a good likeness of Diana and that's Sparkle(the girl who sung with R. Kelly) she is a young Diana an she got a low key sound like her as well. I think its a good ideal to get singers who are known but not main stream to portray these ladies cause I feel they would work harder an be more welling to do it just for the opp. an not mega money deal an if it would win them an award. So if they would get Sparkle for Diana,Kelly Rowland for Mary;an Ashunti for Cindy Birdsong. They're real singers with some acting in their background. I see these Ladies as the next Supremes.
