Fair weather today with rain likely on Tuesday (Video)

High pressure will build across the region today giving most locations across northeastern Ohio fair weather with partly cloudy skies expected. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 30s.

Low pressure will deepen across the Plains States today, then move into the Mississippi Valley tonight. Clouds will overspread the are tonight well in advance of this system. Some light rain or freezing rain is possible by daybreak Tuesday. Lows tonight will dip into the mid 20s, then slowly rise toward dawn.

On Tuesday, the low will move from the mid Mississippi Valley, northeast into the lower Ohio Valley. Rain or freezing rain Tuesday morning will change to all rain as milder air spreads across the state. The rain could be locally heavy. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 30s.

The low will move to near Lake Erie Tuesday night where it will slow down. Rain will continue into Tuesday night. Slightly colder air will wrap into the storm and this could change the rain to snow late Tuesday night. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s.

On Wednesday, the storm will gradually begin to weaken while meandering just north of the area. Colder air aloft and deep moisture will wrap around the system and across northeastern Ohio. Occasional rain or snow is likely during the morning with most locations changing to all snow during the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s.

The system will move very slowly eastward across the eastern Great Lakes and into New England through the end of the week. A persistent, moist northwesterly flow will continue with occasional snow showers likely Thursday and Friday. It will be a bit colder with highs both days in the low 30s.
