HILL CITY, Minn. ? Husaberg rider Nick Fahringer earned his first career National win and first win aboard his Husaberg FX450 at the 7th round of the AMA Racing East National Hare Scrambles Championship Series.
Rain the night before had made the course quite damp in the morning but nice weather on race day made for almost perfect conditions throughout the duration of the 77 mile endurance race.
Fahringer had a mediocre start but made up for it in the first few turns passing multiple people to head into the woods in 4th place. Quickly into the first lap Fahringer had moved up to 2nd place behind Paul Whibley. On the second lap he had matched the pace set by Whibley and began to settle into a solid race pace. Near the end of the two lap mark Whibley lost a chain and DNF’d the race. Fahringer inherited the lead and never looked back.
Fahringer went on to win the event by 5 minutes and 1 second over Jason Greer. On top of Fahringer’s first win, two other Husaberg riders, Dylan Debel and Austin Wells also finished inside the top five to mark the first time three of the top five riders have been aboard Husaberg motorcycles.
“It feels really good to win here today and get my first win on the Husaberg. I am definitely improving as the season continues and feel I am riding at the best I have in my career,” commented Fahringer.
