On the once-popular sitcom "Facts of Life," the theme song included these memorable lyrics: "You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life." Now one of the stars from that show, Lisa Whelchel, is dishing about the facts of fitness after 50. She talked about her tips and her new exercise DVD on the Dec. 9 episode of "The Doctors."

Lisa admits that exercising isn't on high on her list of favorite things. But she recognizes that it's essential for her health.

"I’ve done it just to stay healthy. I don’t enjoy it!" she confessed.

Her new fitness DVD, however, is designed to put the fun into working out for women like Lisa. It's entitled "Lisa Whelchel's Everyday Workout for the Everyday Woman" (click for more information).

Calling herself an "everyday woman when it comes to fitness," Lisa teamed up with a trainer, Janice Clark. The result is a program that includes two workouts for women of different shapes, sizes and fitness levels. You'll need light weights and an exercise mat.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Lisa admitted her own limitations.

"I hurt my shoulder playing racquetball, I have a lower back injury from an aerobics class and I messed up my feet while training to climb Mount Whitney," she laughed.

And although she looked tough on "Survivor," the reality show took its toll on Lisa's body.

"Even on Survivor, when I did the mud challenge, I developed sciatica that has continued to give me trouble," she admitted.

She describes her fitness DVD as a "doable full-body workout that you can do in 20 minutes. It has stretching, resistance, cardio and a cool down. Exercise is different once you get a little older. It doesn't always have to be high impact."
