Facts for all events leading up to 2014 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic on Jan. 1

The 2014 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic and 2013 Sirius Hockeytown Winter Festival is coming to both Detroit and Ann Arbor in just over a week. Between the two cities, fans will be treated to college, minor league and of course NHL hockey action at both Michigan Stadium and Comerica Park.

Right now at Comerica Park, teams consisting of youths all the way to adults are taking advantage of the ice rink with games and scrimmages. With that said, starting Dec. 27, the official festival begins:

Dec 27: 3:30 p.m. Michigan State vs. Michigan Tech (Great Lakes Invitational semi-final)

Dec. 27: 7 p.m. Western Michigan vs. Michigan (Great Lakes Invitational semi-final)

Dec. 28: 3:30 p.m. Great Lakes Invitational consolation game

Dec. 28 7 p.m. Great Lakes Invitational Championship

Dec. 29: 1:30 p.m. Windsor Spitfires vs. Saginaw Sprit (OHL)

Dec. 29: London Knights vs. Plymouth Whalers (OHL)

Dec.30: Toronto Marlies vs. Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL)

Dec. 31: 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Detroit Red Wings Alumni vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni in two separate games. All-time greats such as Scotty Bowan, Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstorm, Sergei Fedorov, Brendnan Shanahan, Dave Andreychuk, Wendell Clark and more will take part.

Jan 1. 1 p.m. Detroit Red Wings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs in the Bridgestone Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium
