Yellow is a color that is associated with happiness, optimism, enlightenment, creativity, and sunshine. However, yellow can also symbolize someone who is fearful. In American cowboy slang a “yellow belly” is somebody who won’t stand up for themselves or who runs away from bad situations instead of trying to right them. On the other hand, in Japan yellow is a sign of courage.
In many parts of the world, yellow is the middle light on traffic lights that warns drivers to slow down because the light is about to turn red, which means stop. Yellow is also a frequently seen color on road signs because it catches people’s eye. If you want to be noticed or feel happy, wear yellow!
