About Dr. Monte O. Harris

MONTE O. HARRIS, MD, founder of the Center for Aesthetic Modernism, is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Harris earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Harris completed more than seven years of post-graduate subspecialty training focusing exclusively on the head and neck, and completed a year-long fellowship in facial cosmetic surgery. He maintains a busy practice in facelift, hair transplant, and rhinoplasty procedures.

A recognized authority in facial rejuvenation, Dr. Harris is renowned for his culturally sensitive approach to rhinoplasty and hair restoration.

Dr. Harris dedicates himself to the philosophy of educating his patients not only about the availability of medical and surgical rejuvenating techniques, but also about the importance of maintaining the health of their skin. Skin can’t be beautiful without being healthy, and healthy skin has a glow about it that enhances beauty.

Considering a Facelift?
As we age, several changes take place in the structures of the face that make us look older. Our bodies fail to produce as much collagen, which helps to add volume to facial tissue. At the same time, we lose fat volume in the face, our skin loses its elasticity, and the pull of gravity eventually overcomes our tissue’s ability to resist its downward slide.

A surgical facelift redrapes and elevates musculature and skin tissue, tightening loose and sagging skin on the face and neck to compensate for these changes brought on by the passage of time.

Modern techniques have eliminated the stretched appearance of the skin that used to announce “facelift.” Now, people who have facelifts simply look … better: more relaxed, more vibrant, and more youthful.

Dr. Harris assesses the skin’s elasticity to determine the right procedure, or combination of procedures, that will help turn back the hands of time. If a surgical facelift is the best choice, it can be performed in the Center’s fully accredited surgical suite. Learn more about facelift procedure

Reversing Hair Loss
Dr. Harris has several approaches to treating hair loss, and among the most popular is hair transplant surgery, taking healthy hair follicles from one area on the scalp and transplanting them in areas of thinning or baldness.

Dr. Harris performs both Follicular Unit Transplant (taking a strip of healthy follicles and dissecting the strip to acquire the donor grafts) and Follicular Unit Extraction (selective removal of individual hair follicles of one to four hairs that preserves the health of each donor graft without leaving a linear scar at the donor site).

FUT will leave a small linear scar where the donor strip was removed, but this scar can be easily camouflaged after healing by hair that grows over and through the scar.

FUE leaves only small, circular scars that heal without the need for sutures.

Both methods result in hair regrowth that looks completely natural, and is virtually undetectable.

Rhinoplasty: Culturally Sensitive
When someone seeks rhinoplasty (a “nose job”), s/he is often concerned with maintaining the features of the nose that are consistent with his or her heritage.

Dr. Harris is sensitive to his patients’ cultural identities and takes special care to preserve a culture’s distinctive characteristics while still providing his patients with the subtle changes that help patients achieve their own sense of personal beauty.

“Racial admixture in the African American population has resulted in a diverse array of nasal beauty,” notes Dr. Harris. “Prospective patients seeking African American Rhinoplasty hold preservation of ethnic identity in high regard as they seek to enhance facial attractiveness. It is my goal to help them to achieve their desired outcomes.”

At the Center for Aesthetic Modernism, Dr. Harris employs advanced 3-dimensional imaging to help his patients visualize their results well before surgery is scheduled.

Dr. Harris brings about subtle changes, sometimes making changes that are no more than millimeters from the original, that create an aesthetically balanced appearance without losing culturally significant characteristics.

Botox® Cosmetic eases signs of aging
Every day, you smile, frown, laugh, squint, and raise your eyebrows. All those repetitive motions cause lines of expression to form on your brow. Over time, those lines become pronounced, betraying the passage of time.

Injections of Botox Cosmetic relaxes the muscles responsible for those repetitive movements, and keeps them relaxed so your skin can return to its natural, smoother state. It can visibly smooth these lines of expression within days, and the benefits can last for up to six months.

Treatment can be performed in as little as an hour, requires only an ice pack as a topical anesthetic, and involves placement of a small number of injections into the muscles responsible for those lines of expression. Following treatment, you will be able to return to work or your regular daily activities, while Botox Cosmetic provides its subtle improvements without betraying your privacy.
