Facebook weighs in on Rihanna's All Star Halftime performance

Rihanna, Kanye West and Drake were live at the Staples Center for the 60th Annual NBA All Star halftime show tonight, Feb. 20th.  Rihanna was scantily clad in a tight black mini dress and her hot red hair style matched Kanye’s skinny jeans. She definitely had the crowd’s attention as she belted out her latest hit, “What’s My Name” while gyrating her hips to the beat.  Drake made a surprise entrance from the crowd and joined her for the jam while teasing her with a “Happy Birthday” lyric while on stage (the singer turned 23 today).  Kanye’s spark-filled entrance was of course only fitting of a star and all eyes were on him as he rocked, “All of the Lights.”

Of course as with all major televised musical events, Facebookers were quick to weigh in on the show. Here are a few comments straight from Facebook from some local NBA All Star Game halftime show viewers:

  • Marc Richard Dinuzzo - “Great performance By Rihanna the sound was great she used her voice well and the added orchestra was a plus I give it a A- minus for Kanye pants LOL”
  • Wilfredo Gonzalez- “I thought the acoustics were horrible, but Rhianna was definitely better than Kanye. But not as good as she was last week at the Grammy's.”
  • Djsammysosa Samuel Alvarez: Rihanna needs to just lip synch for the rest of her life, Drake saved her and Kanye took the rest of the attention with Eddie Murphy's Raw outfit!
  • Deejay Purcyse- Rihanna must have walked right passed a mirror when it came to her hair!
  • Sofie Mel (Hartford singer)- I’m happy they kept the show going.  Situations with sound control, images appeals can always be corrected, the main motive is to keep the show going. (just a thought) lol

Although the sound was a bit off and not as impressive as last week’s Grammy performances, it was a great show and definitely fitting for an action packed All Star Weekend.  Perhaps one way the show could have compared to the Grammy’s would be if Lebron James just happened to make an entrance in Lady Gaga’s “Grammy Egg.”
