Facebook video: 'A Look Back' feature helps users celebrate site's anniversary

Facebook is celebrating a big anniversary, as it is now 10 years old. As part of the social media site's celebration, the opportunity to create personal Facebook movies has been created. On Feb. 3 The Next Web shared the details on the videos going viral on Facebook walls.

The personal Facebook movie, or photo collection, is dubbed “A Look Back” and it pulls photos and video highlights from a user's time on Facebook. The media is compiled to create a brief video that is making many users get a bit misty. While the concept is similar to the Facebook “Year in Review” option, there's just something about clicking a link and having the memories immediately available in video form that is irresistible.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, commented on the big anniversary saying he's grateful to be part of the journey. What does he have in store for the next 10 years? Most users would guess there are many timeline tweaks ahead, naturally, but there will plenty more as well. Zuckerberg says that he's even more excited about the upcoming 10 years than the past 10. Chances are that things like the “A Look Back” personal Facebook movie creation are merely the tip of the iceberg.
