Facebook is suing upstart technology company Teachbook.com. This looks like a "fail" for Facebook, and the giant social media company risks looking like a big bully on this one.
Since being founded in 2004 in a Harvard dorm room by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook has grown to 500 million users by July 2010, with over 3 billion monthly views.
Facebook is suing Teachbook for trademark infringement - because of the latter's "book" on its name.
Really?
What about bookworm.com? Is that worthy of being taken to court also?
Facebook filed a complaint in a California court Wednesday. Teachbook is a not-yet-operational site.
Teachbook aims to provide teachers with a "database of lesson plans and instructional videos to enrich your classroom experience," and wants to encourage use of an "online Gradebook to record, calculate and share grades with parents."
Dude, let this one go. Mark, you're throwing bombs at ants.
