April 2, 2013, Computer World updated the latest Facebook smartphone, in partnership with HTC rumors before the official announcement from Facebook this coming Thursday. It started with rampant rumors of an official Facebook smartphone. It has now blossomed into an official Facebook designed home screen launcher, only on HTC smartphones.
Android Police published reportedly leaked images that appear to show that Facebook is teaming up with phone maker HTC Corp., and using its latest phone to show off a Facebook-focused home screen for Android smartphones. (Computer World)."
If this turns out to be fact when the official announcement is made on Thursday, this would be a huge game changer for Facebook, its mobile version, HTC, and the smartphone world. Every smartphone ships with it's own standard home screen that is loaded when the smart phone is manufactured.
For Facebook to completely own the home screen of your smartphone, make it faster and easier to interact with Facebook, continue their one hundred percent mobile focused development, and erase any bad memories that were the initial launch of the Facebook app. Facebook would be unstoppable, forge ahead into a bright future, and complete their seamless integration into every aspect of our lives from computers to smartphones.
"Strategically, this makes sense for Facebook, as they need to control more of their mobile destiny," said Patrick Moorhead, an analyst with Moor Insights & Strategy. "Partnering with HTC make a lot more sense than doing a complete phone, because they can put most of the resources and risk onto HTC. (Computer World)"
