Facebook post leads authorities to animal cruelty of man slamming dog to ground

A five-year-old pit bull mix is dead after Brandon Clark allegedly picked the dog up and slammed the defenseless animal to the ground causing the animal's death because the dog nipped at another dog while eating in Sweet Home, Oregon this week reported wbtv.com.

Deputies from the Linn County Sheriff's Office arrested Brandon Clark, 27, of the 2800 block of Scott Mountain Road and charged him with first degree felony animal cruelty. Clark is currently being held in the Linn County Jail.

On August 5, a post on Facebook appeared, referencing an owner having to euthanize his dog because his brother slammed the dog to the ground so hard that the dog's back and hips were broken. The dog was unable to walk and began to vomit. According to an official statement, the owner felt it best to euthanize his dog.

When authorities were able to trace the Facebook post and met with Clark, he admitted he became angry with the dog. The suspect and the brother live together.
