Facebook angered some of its users when they started implementing the advertisements directly into the timeline, because users would now be forced to look at the advertisements that they didn't necessarily choose. If that wasn't enough, Facebook is not done with pushing ads on users. If the timeline ads and the sidebar ads weren't enough, developers are now planning on putting the ads right in users' faces. According to a new Mashable report published on Sept. 10, Facebook is now planning on expanding the image sizes for their advertisements, meaning people will notice the ads more.
Starting next week, Facebook ads will be much larger than the previous image sizes. “An image will be 3.5 times the size of old ad images,” says a Facebook spokesperson. This change is great for advertisers, who will get more out of each advertisement. However, given the negative reaction to advertisements being implemented into the timeline in the first place, this could have a negative affect with users.
Users who don't like advertisements in the timeline should be enjoying these hours because it won't take long for Facebook to implement the advertisement changes? What do you think of this change?
