Facebook photo of a gun and a baby lands Ohio man in jail

Police in Ohio arrested a man Sunday night after he posted a photo to Facebook featuring him holding a gun and his 1-year old daughter.

Facebook has become a popular place to post photos of handguns and weaponry, particularly in the wake of Newtown and Aurora. Dominic Gaines, 22, decided Sunday he would follow the trend and post a photo showing him holding a gun and his daughter to the popular social networking site.

After the maternal grandmother of the child saw the photo, she contacted the police. They arrested Gaines for child endangerment.

Once at the house, officers located the weapon. It was not a handgun but a BB pistol. The police arrested Gaines for the proximity of the weapon to the child. It could have injured or killed the small infant had the weapon been fired at that range.

Gaines was held in Hamilton County Jail without bond.
