When we think of using Facebook we aren't necessarily thinking about how using the app will affect our lives. The Facebook empire will not be making a phone but will integrate their app into Androids HTC 4.3 inch smartphone. The HTC, which looks much like an IPhone will have Facebook's services and apps more accessible on the user interface instead of clicking on the app in your smartphone. Below are a list of pros and cons that should be introduced before you take the plunge into Android land.
Pros
Less expensive than an Iphone- The HTC will be moderately priced and more affordable than the ridiculous price of the Iphone.
Multiple colors- Any color phone you want (how is that for individuality)
Larger Phone- The HTC screen will be 4.3 inches compared to Iphone 5 screen size at 4 inches.
Eliminates desktops-No longer have to use Facebook on your desktop as everything you need to do will be available to do on your smartphone.
Cons
More access to your personal info- Facebook's reach spreading beyond an app allows its presence to access more information from your phone. Essentially, you would spend more time using Facebook's features, which will give Facebook more opportunities to collect data and find ads that appease you.
More control of your phone- The app has permission to control the phone completely including all system settings, lock screen and even your WiFi connection.
We will know for sure how the app will work today at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California. The announcement of the Facebook, Google Play and HTC collaboration will be put in perspective at a press conference for the mystery device.
