Facebook new look became a trending topic on search engines this weekend as Wired reported this Friday, March 1, that an important update for the News Feed is on its way, and rumor has it that the giant social media site will soon be revealing a newly redesigned mobile News Feed look as well.
The Facebook new look may not be anything too major, as the company hinted in its recent press release that in the March 7 release event, users will be able to “see a new look for the News Feed.” TechCrunch, however, also ntoed this January 2013 that Facebook was already testing a mobile version of the News Feed that would do away with the blue and white design, and instead integrate a whole-screen, image-focused approach instead.
While several changes have been made to Facebook in recent months, the News Feed could certainly do with a Facebook new look, as it hasn’t had any significant redesigns in quite some time. Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg even highlights the News Feed as one of the tree pillars of Facebook’s success, in addition to Graph Searhc and the Timeline. With both of these still relatively new features — Graph Search is less than several months old, in fact — News Feed could also certainly do with a new design for the millions of the social media giant’s users.
The mobile News Feed at present offers users mostly white, blue, and grey chrome background that uses up a lot of space on both mobile devices and specific smartphones. However, developers feel that updating the News Feed to offer more information with less chrome and text-integrated-images will help offer a more personalized and welcoming touch to each and every Facebook post, such as including textual posts atop people’s individual profile photos.
Facebook users will see the new News Feed look unveiled on March 7, so stay tuned.
