A new interactive trailer for the upcoming movie about Facebook, The Social Network, debuted on MySpace today. The hype is increasing for the Facebook movie, which premieres on October 1, with the latest trailer offering a glimpse into more facts and tidbits of information on the popular social networking site.
Interesting move posting a Facebook movie trailer on MySpace, but that is smart marketing. (View the new interactive trailer to the left by clicking twice on the blue video box)
The Social Network movie is an adaptation of the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by author Ben Mezrich, about Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg and the history behind the creation of the social network site that boasts over 500 million users.
The interactive trailer gives fans and curious potential movie-goers a chance to check out videos, facts and statistics about Facebook and how it all began. Some facts you may know but others maybe even well-versed social media freaks may not.
Did you know that Jesse Eisenberg's cousin works at Facebook? Or that the average user logs on 23.333 hours per month? That equates to less than an hour a day, which seems to be a little low for the number of updates that stream through on a minute by minute basis.
Are you an 'average' Facebook user?
The cast list of The Social Network is lengthy and includes Jesse Eisenberg (Mark Zuckerberg), Justin Timberlake (Sean Parker) and Andrew Garfield (Eduardo Saverin).
Will you be going to see the Facebook movie, The Social Network?

My social networking in Facebook is limited to family members and close friends, we post pictures mainly.
I can't imagine a movie, then again remember "you got mail" ? It would not be a movie I'll run to see, although out on DVD, I'll watch.
The movie is not about social networking. It's about the creation of the Facebook empire..so to speak. Read the book, it's really great. The movie will hopefully be 'as good'.
I have seen the preview for this a couple times over the last week or so and can't wait to see it. It should be interesting!
