Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg Lean In book talks about women, blame and gender

The new book from Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead has people talking about women in the work place.

From discussions with Whoppi, Barbara Walters and the gang on ABC’s The View to articles and blogs providing their insight on what she has to say about getting ahead in a world still dominated by men.

In her book Lean In available March 11, 2013 in hardcover, audiobook and Kindle editions, Sandberg digs into the issues, giving her opinion, and research on the lives and choices women make. She recounts her mistakes, decisions, and struggles on how she made the right choices for herself, her career and family.

For a long time women have struggled over their choices of career and family and whether they can have it all. This book digs into those issues and provides a wealth of information for women in a positive way.

She points out that both men and women can contribute at work and family if they so desire. Her book points out how women receive less credit in the workplace and has many helpful suggestions for women and men.

Although the book is not without controversy where Sandberg states that a women’s most important career is decision is who you marry. Things like men who do more housework have more sex which studies dispute this fact.

This book is highly recommended for any women looking to succeed in their career and family life. Though some say as a billionaire Sandberg is not in a position to speak for the average woman and men say that she has no business telling people how to act.

When you write a book you have to expect to have your critics both good and bad. There is always something to learn from any book that you read and form your own opinion on what is best for your career and family.

Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg is available on Amazon in Hardcover, Kindle edition, and audio book.

Lean In is also available through Barnes and Noble (Hardcover and Nook editions).
