R&B Star Avant has been belting his heart out on platinum albums like,“My Thoughts,” and “Private Room,”. Recently he's reunited with songstress Keke Wyatt on the smash single “You & I,”. Leny Navarro chatted with the crooner about his seventh album, Face the Music, which is available now.
L- Avant, you have just released your new album FACE THE MUSIC, how are you feeling?
A-I'm excited, but this is where the grind begins!
L- This is your seventh album but your first independent release, what was different this time?
A- The difference is we have to do all the footwork ourselves, it's more of a hustle, we have to pay attention to details that the major label would normally handle, but it is a learning experience.
L- Who are the most interesting producers you've worked with on this new project?
A- Kajun did a lot of work with Ludacris and other various artist, the passion that he exhibits is second to none, Andre Henry is a musical Genius that the world should pay attention to and with me we are known as the Monopoly!
L- Your duet "You & I" is already a hit, can you tell us more about the next single?
A- We're still deciding on the Next single.
L- You really have a great chemistry with Keke Wyatt, will you release a full album together anytime soon?
A- Yes, we are looking to put out the Duet's Album in 2014.
L- What is the most valuable lesson you've learned from your many years in the industry?
A- Without hard work you won't get results.
L- Your opinion of the music game today?
A- I think it's pretty good, everybody's trying to be different, Some work, some don't.
L- Any chance for your fans in Europe to see you perform this year?
A- I'm currently working with my Agent to get over in Europe now. Hopefully we'll be able to make something happen, it's all about finding the correct Buyer! We are making good progress in this area.
