'Face Balls with Julia Roberts:' Jimmy Fallon throws his balls at Julia Roberts

Only Jimmy Fallon could get away with slamming Julia Roberts in the face with his balls. America’s Sweetheart proved why she earned the moniker on Thursday night’s episode of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."

Julia Roberts stopped by “The Tonight Show” in New York to have a game of catch with Jimmy Fallon, however the 46-year-old actress wasn’t prepared for clear beach balls in her face. The “Face Balls with Julia Roberts” segment is making its rounds, proving why she is America’s Sweetheart. Although she looked somewhat nervous at the thought of Fallon’s request, the unpretentious Julia Roberts followed through with a game of Face Balls accented by the same “Pretty Woman” gasps and giggles the world fell in love with.

The “Face Balls with Julia Roberts” clip, which could be viewed above, shows Jimmy Fallon and Julia Roberts in a game of no hands dodge ball. The opponent must sit down as the other slams a ball in the face, and then the action is replayed in slow motion. Ball jokes and more ensue, with Roberts exclaiming, “this is the comedy version of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Julia shoots first and when it is Fallon’s turn to reciprocate, she is a little taken aback and cannot believe he is going to actually throw a ball in her face. For the next round the balls become larger, a fact that doesn’t go unnoticed by Julia Roberts and Jimmy hits harder. But, through it all the mom of three is unshaken and hysterically laughs for the cameras. Jimmy Fallon’s last throw was a little strong and he hugs Julia Roberts for some time apologizing, and then asks her to “please come back.”

Julia Roberts has been busy in NYC making the media rounds and paid a visit with Matt Lauer on "The Today Show" to discuss her illustrious career and the “role of a lifetime, motherhood." Her last appearance on "Today" was seven years ago.
