Sips and Suppers 2014 was as successful as it is every year, with over 75 well-known DC restaurants serving signature small bites and cocktails to the excited patrons who turned up at DC’s beautiful Newseum for this annual charity event. Benefiting DC’s Central Kitchen and Martha’s Table, which aim to end hunger in the District, Sips and Suppers raises thousands of dollars every year through its ticket sales.
The irresistible dishes served by talented DC chefs this year included fresh oysters, little bowls of mac n cheese, tiny Chinese take-out boxes filled with spicy noodles, crispy crostini heaped with gorgonzola cheese, creamy gelato from Dolce Gelati, decadent macaroons from the Sweet Lobby, and much, much more. Drinks flowed freely throughout the venue, with everything from wine to beer to any kind of cocktail you could imagine being served.
The newest and most exciting touch this year was the addition of three travelling bar: each of the three glass enclosed elevators within the Newseum was set up with a bar, serving a signature cocktails inspired by an exotic world location.
