Summertime in San Francisco is a great time to check out the various street festivals.  For a newcomer like me, it's also a great way to explore the different neighborhoods in the city.  The Union Street Festival kicks off the month of June.  The Haight Ashbury Street Fair and the North Beach Festival follow it.  Last, but definitely not least, is the Fillmore Jazz Festival and the one that I was most excited about.  I loved the fact that it was in my backyard.

Given the festival's close proximity to my apartment, I was able to attend both days.  On the first day, I enjoyed the great music and food.  On the second day, I did some window shopping and visited all of the vendor tables.  I met a lot of local jewelry designers.  Their pieces were so beautiful and more stunning than most of the jewelry that I have seen at festivals.
