FAA Safety Seminars will continue if government shutdown occurs

The FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) released notice NOTC2914 today to address the effect of the possible government shutdown on upcoming FAA seminars and events. Due to the instant cessation of activities of a compromise is not reached by midnight ET time tonight, the FAA sent the notice out to advise of the possible cancellation of activities.

The FAA stated that 'Given the rules of the shut down that we must follow, we may not be able to provide timely notice of seminar and event cancellations.' As some of the seminars and events are sponsored and do not rely on federal funding, the FAA believes that most of the seminars and events WILL continue as scheduled. However, if Congress fails to provide funding some events and seminars may be canceled.

Unlike many other federal organization, the FAASTeam website will remain online and updated. The online courses and resources will not be affected.
