FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt has a court date of Feb. 2 to face charges that he was driving while intoxicated (DWI) on Saturday, according to court documents filed on Tuesday.
Babbitt, 65, was arrested by City of Fairfax Police after an officer spotted him driving on the wrong side of the road in the 3900 block of Old Lee Highway.
Fairfax City General District records indicate this is Babbitt’s first DWI charge. The case type is labeled a misdemeanor.
After it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol, Babbitt was transported to the Adult Detention Center where a magistrate issued a warrant for driving while intoxicated. He was placed on a personal recognizance bond.
Babbitt was the sole occupant of his vehicle. “He cooperated fully with the arresting officer,” police said in a statement on Monday.
