F-words put focus on all that GAL has to offer members (Photos)

The F-words will be flying on April 9 when GAL Golf Leagues for Women holds its annual Open House at Cedarhill Golf and Country Club.

“GAL is all about the F-words,” said Marie Seabrook, president of GAL. “We’re inviting women golfers from around the region to join us at our Open House for an evening filled with fun, food, fitness, fashion and friendships.”

The meet and greet get-together kicks off at 6 p.m. when attendees begin to network and meet their captains for the 2013 season while getting re-acquainted with league friends over finger foods and refreshing beverages from a cash bar.

From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Seabrook will welcome everyone, unveil the new GAL website and introduce the Express Pay and Pay As You Play league programs.

She’ll be followed by Allen Hicks, GAL’s resident physiotherapist, and his demonstration of the best warm-up exercises to use before playing a game of golf.

A fashion show then takes centre stage, as the GAL captains strut their stuff in the newest golf apparel from Nancy Lopez, Ash City, North End and Antigua.

“Everyone can try on and order their new attire,” said Seabrook. “We’ll deliver clothing purchases and registration gifts during our members-only Welcome Dinner on May 1 at the Centurion Conference and Event Centre evening that includes a free half-hour lesson.”

Next up after the fashion extravaganza at 8 p.m. will be the announcements of door prize winners and a special draw to see Oprah.

“A registered member who refers a friend that joins GAL on or before April 9 will be entered into a draw for a ticket to accompany me to the Evening With Oprah show at Scotiabank Place on April 10,” Seabrook said.

After the draws are completed, attendees will be able to chat and pose questions to the organization’s president about GAL while they shop, mingle, snack and register for the 2013 season.

Cedarhill Golf and Country Club is located at 56 Cedarview Dr. in Nepean.
