Hawaii is the Aloha State. Aloha to sun shiny days, every single day with brief rainshowers every now and then. But it is the "BER months" and here comes whale sharks, monk seals, barrels and surfable waves. Also, we welcome the chilly days of November. The weather is perfect, not too chilly to swim during the day time, not to warm to wear a sweater. It's the in-between sweet days of winter 2010.
Shoes: Though an island, we still call it the winter months. Many wear windbreakers, light sweaters and you won't believe it - UGG boots! These days, girls love to wear them with light sweater and denim shorts. Very stylish and young-looking. Flats for a casual day out in town is toe-warming as opposed to thong sandals, tiki footwear and wedges in summer.
But thong sandals are still a must. In Hawaii, you are always surrounded by water. A brief walk in the beach with jeans rolled up after a busy day at work is always refreshing. Always stack those pair of rubber thong slippers (for sale everywhere for $3.00) in your car.
Accessories: Hawaii is popular for tie-dyed scarves. Handpainted ones are always loved by tourists. Many prefer printed fabric in symbolic Hawaii - turtles, sun, waves, flowers and slipper prints.
Jewelries: Ever heard of a small shop on Kauai called Jungle Girl? This shop at Old Koloa Town carries fashion items from Asia. They are unique and quite the treasure, if you do care for unique accessories and apparels.
Visitors of Hawaii do not forget to bring home with them some island souvenirs. Ladies, get your hands on some of the finest-crafted jewelries of the island. Poipu Kauai's Kukui'ula Village has great Christmas gift ideas, bringing home a piece of Hawaii with you.
Enjoy island hopping. Enjoy island shopping.
