Gaming peripheral company Mad Catz announced yesterday that they will be releasing a new gaming headset for PC gamers, the F.R.E.Q.7 Surround Sound Gaming Headset for Windows PC, next year.
The F.R.E.Q.7 is part of Mad Catz’s GameSmart product line and features Dolby Headphone Technology and Dolby Pro Logic IIX Technology, expanding stereo and 5.1 audio to 7.1 surround sound. The headset comes with 50mm speakers with Neodymium magnets, on-ear controls, a detachable noise-canceling microphone as well as lightweight aluminum components for comfort and durability. The detachable in-line cable will also allow for easy conversion from USB to 3.5mm for stereo support on iPhone, tablets and most smart devices.
Gamers can expect the F.R.E.Q.7 to be available in the first quarter of fiscal 2014 and Mad Catz is taking preorders via their online store now, the headset has a price tag of $199.99. The F.R.E.Q.7 will come with a desktop stand and will be available in four colors, matte black, gloss black, gloss white and gloss red. You can see images of the F.R.E.Q.7 in the slideshow up top.
