Lisle's Eyes to the Skies Festival, one of the top festivals in the Chicagoland area, has launched for 2014's Fourth of July weekend. The festival opened on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 and will run through Sunday, July 6. The main attractions are held on Thurs. through Sat., July 3-5, 2014. Lisle is located in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
The Independence Day Parade steps off at 11 a.m. on July 4 in downtown Lisle.
The festival is unique because it features the magic of flight by colorful hot air balloons. The festival, balloon launch, balloon glow and fireworks are held on the main days, Thurs.-Sat.. The schedule for Thurs.-Sat. is: Balloon Launch at 5:30 a.m., Festival noon to 11 p.m., Carnival noon to 11 p.m., Balloon Launch at 6:30 p.m., Balloon Glow at 8 p.m. and Fireworks and 9:45 p.m..
The Wilson's Family Show Carnival is open daily, Wed.-Sun.. There is free admission to the carnival at the West Gate entrance only. People who enter through the North and East Gates will have to pay festival admission to enter the carnival.
The Children's Area features a number of kid-friendly activities, entertainment and On-Stage Shows on Thurs.-Sat.. Children can enjoy Legoland Discovery Center, Roadrunner's Soccer Club, Premier Princess Parties, Hawaiian Hula Dancers, Animal Quest, Music by the Magnifiers, magic shows, face painters, art activities and more.
Live music is played on two stages, the VanKampen Stage and the Riverview Stage. The featured entertainment is the Gin Blossoms, who play on the VanKampen Stage on Sat., July 5 at 8 p.m..
Musical headliners on the VanKampen Stage include: Feudin Hillbillys on Thurs., Reeley Dan and Chicago Tribute Anthology on Fri., and the Personnel and Gin Blossoms on Sat.
Musical headliners on the Riverview Stage include: Rod Tuffcurls and the Benchpress and Sixteen Candles on Thurs., Shape Shifter and Wedding Banned on Fri.; and Bostyxx, According to Sarah and The Trippin Billies on Sat..
Food vendors and concessions are located in the Main Food Court and the Riverview Food Court. There are over 20 vendors listed on the Eyes to the Skies website.
Admission is $7 for adults and children and includes two stages of music. Parking is $5. On July 4 there is free admission for military with active ID and for Lisle residents (after 3 p.m) with ID.
