Hello Beauties!
Emerald is a huge trend this year, and what better month than March to experiment with? Besides in fashion this color is becoming more and more popular in the beauty industry. So many shades and blends to play with to create your own 'green' look. I urge you to stay away from neon greens makeup wise. Look for deep greens, which are perfect for night looks. For day, pastel greens are the perfect way to go.
One question clients love to ask is how to pair colors together. Frankly speaking, that is the purpose [and power] of makeup. Pairing unlikely colors and making them work. Choose a focus color and play with it! Here are some tips for green eye make-up:
- Stick to the brown/neutral family of colors when looking for a color to blend with. For example, green on the lid, a soft brown in the crease. If you want to deepen the look, a darker green in the corner or a dark brown in the corner.
- You want a variety of greens to play with. Even if you have a lime green shade, mix it with a darker shade or something lighter to soften it up. PLAY with your colors, that's where all the fun is!
- Neutral lips. This is mostly personal, but if you are a beginner please do not rock a bright orange lip with a green eye. I am not saying it can't work, but 95% of the time the eye colors are not blended enough or transition properly to make the look work.
- Opt for a neutral eye and green eye liner ! Makes a statement and isn't over bearing with color.
Check out these gorgeous green looks I've come across lately.
XO.
