One of the most sensitive organs in our body is the Eye. In fact it is one of the most special organs as well. And some of us are blessed with fresh eyes with long eye lashes whereas others use different cosmetic products in order to enhance the beauty of the eyes. But the question is not whether you need to use cosmetic items or not, the question is do you take enough and proper care of your eyes? Of the different organs, eyes require the most care because a little bit of negligence on our part and it can easily affect our vision on a long term basis.

Due to our busy lifestyle, many of us fail to visit the optometrist or take optometry management twice a year for the regular eye check out. But that is no excuse. It is important that we take proper care of it. But don’t stress yourself over it. Our kitchen has the simplest solutions at our disposal that will allow you to take proper care of your eyes.

The answer to a healthy eye lies in the different items stored in our kitchen and you will be surprised to know how useful they can be.

How many times have you heard that drinking milk before going to bed is great for your health? Well it really is. If you have one cup of hot milk before you go to bed you will have a great sleep and there is no better solution than adequate rest of the eyes. Throughout the day we expose our eyes to the harmful lights of the computer screen, so a good sleep is the first step towards a proper eye sight.

What about water? Besides replenishing your body of the lost fluids, you can use cold water to clean your eyes. They will help to refresh your eyes and clean it of the dirt accumulated. Make it a habit tow as your eyes with cold water 3-4 times a day.

Do you have rose water in your kitchen? Most of us have as we often use rose water in different kinds of recipes. Now use this rose water to clean your eyes. Before going to bed, put some drops of rose water in your eyes. This will help to remove all the dirt and germs from your eyes and will give you a fresh look in the morning.

You can also clean your eyes with honey as well. Just like you apply kajal in your eyes, use a thin stick to apply the honey in your eyes. Keep it on for 10 minutes and then wash off with cold water.

Next time you make a green tea; don’t throw away the tea bag. Use this tea bag and put it over your closed eyelids for a maximum of 30 minutes. The tea bag will help to reduce the puffiness of your eyes. We all know how beneficial the antioxidants of green tea are.

Another item that is available in almost all the homers is the potato. Did you know that potatoes are great for the eyes? For healthy eyes, put round slices of the vegetable on your eyelids for a maximum of 20m mins for great results. They will help to reduce dark circles under the eyes.

And no discussion of healthy eye care at home can be complete without mentioning two important items. One is the consumption of green leafy vegetables and the other one is the use of cucumbers. We all know the cooling benefits of cucumber and to soothe your eyes of their tiredness don’t forget to place slices of cucumber over your eyes.
