I'm currently entering the 11th hour of gaming for the Extra Life gaming marathon, raising money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. My eyes are a little tired, but nothing coffee can't fix. I only found out about this opportunity two days ago, but I'd like to thank those that have already donated and pledged over the past two days. I'm still in the midst of raising funds so you can still donate as well.
As I hit the halfway point I've been able to take breaks along the way to view videos of the kids I'm working to help. You see, the funds being raised go towards helping kids who are battling some pretty serious issues. Issues like cancer and cystic fibrosis are just two of the main issues funded by our efforts. In my opinion, these little heroes deserve our attention and a chance to find a cure in their life time. So much to do, but luckily there are enough gamers uniting for this cause.
I've attached a video for you to see where we were at the six hour mark. I've also kept track of the games I'm playing. Today's efforts are taking part on a PS3, Nintendo Wii, iOS phone, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, and Super Nintendo (SNES). From the new to the old, I'm spanning decades of classic games as well as some "new to me" games.
If you can support, please donate at the link below. Below you'll also find a link to explain a little bit more about Extra Life and the impact they've made thus far.
I hope you'll consider because any amount helps. And if you're a gamer, perhaps this is something you'll consider doing next year!
