Exploring BMX: River City BMX

More than 200 riders arrived for Sunday morning racing at stop three on the 2010 Southern Series , River CIty BMX in Grants Pass, Oregon.   This was the first chance for most riders to get a look at the newly remodeled track and upcoming home of the 2010 Oregon State Championship races scheduled for September.

Following the ribbon cutting, the gate dropped on the pro-am.  Few riders dared tackle the new pro section but Christian "Motor" Cooper had the skills to take the #1 spot after three rounds.

The layers came off as the day wore on and the temperature went up.   One of the most popular vendors turned out to be the sno-cone booth.  Quite surprising since you could have made your own with real snow just the day before!

You can make a trip to try out the new Grants Pass track by heading south.  They offer weekly racing every Tuesday, Saturday, and once schools out, Thursday nights as well.
