When visiting Seattle, it is tradition to visit the bustling places like Pike's Market, or the myriad of awesome coffee shops that the area is known for, but what about trying something a little different -- like a Chocolate Indulgence Tour?
It may surprise you to learn that Seattle is home to over 50 artisan chocolatiers. The Chocolate Indulgence Tour by Savor Seattle Tours aims to explore this sinfully sweet part of Seattle's culinary culture.
Guests will get to sample chef Tom Douglas's signature desserts, taste President Obama's favorite chocolates, and learn where chocolate comes from, how it is made, and important tips on how to taste and store your chocolate.
This is a two hour walking tour that includes tastes of over 17 different chocolate creations. You will have the opportunity to try the cookie that Seattle Magazine named as one of Seattle's best desserts, sample the chocolates that are given to guests of the White House, and start off with the cocktail that is the favorite of many local Seattle bartenders.
Here is a look at some of the decadent delights you will get to sample on this tour:
- Decadent chocolate truffles and caramels
- Mini cupcakes and chocolate enrobed brownies
- Tom Douglas's famous Triple Coconut Cream Pie
- Gourmet popcorn with chocolate, nuts, and cocoa nibs
- Cheesecake from The Confectional, featured on TLC's "Best Food Ever"
- Colombian drinking chocolate
- A hand-crafted chocolate cocktail
- Smooth and creamy gelato and sorbet
- Chocolate truffle cookies
- and even more...if you are up for it!
The Chocolate Indulgence Tour is held Thursday through Monday at 11:00am and 11:30am. Tour dates and time availability can vary by season so either call Savor Seattle Tours or search for available dates on their website.
Tickets are $49 per person and the exact meeting location will be provided upon purchase, but plan for the general area of 4th Avenue and Olive Way. Tours are limited and Savor Seattle Tours reserves the right to cap the number of participants and/or cancel a tour that fails to attract a minimum enrollments. Guests will be notified if this unfortunate situation arises.
