Exploratorium's "The Science of Cocktails"

If you've ever watched "The Magic School Bus" when you were a kid, you'd know that science is a part of everyday living...even baking a cake! Chemical reactions take place when you mix ingredients, and again when you heat those ingredients. Well, we're grown-ups now and perhaps we've forgotten some of our pre-teen lessons. Here's a great way to refresh our memories! The Exploratorium is having an adults only event, and that does mean 21 years and older, on January 24th from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Pier 15 called "The Science of Cocktails".

Some of the Highlights you'll enjoy are "Liquid Nitrogen Cocktail" The title alone sounds interesting! It's sort of a grown-up "Dippin' Dots" as you transform tasty cocktails into frosty astronaut-friendly treats.

Next you can "Tinker with Twizzle Sticks". Take twizzle sticks and umbrellas to a whole new level in the Tinkering Studio. Maybe your invention will be a new craze!

Try the "Corpse Reviver #2 Machine". Walk with a Zombie and let his marvel of a machine craft you a "Corpse Reviver #2 Cocktail"! That sounds like a whole lot of fun! Maybe a little bit scary, but be daring!

Go on and try some "Bar Tricks". Wow friends with fun science-based bar tricks. Use what you've learned over and over again!

Then try "DNAquiri". Try extracting your own DNA with the help of a little alcohol...

Tickets are on sale until January 23rd. They are $120 for General Admission, $185.00 for VIP, but those are already sold out! Lab Members get a 10% discount on the price of a ticket. The fee includes an Open Bar, Hor d'Oeurves, and special activities.

Who said there's nothing to do after the holidays? They're just not looking!
