Online marketing is not a walk in the park or easy by any measure. Expert SEO Waco Texas entrepreneur Jonathan of http://www.octobermarketing.com understands the business well. When I interviewed Jonathan for this article I quickly realized he is indeed a true expert with a lot to offer.
Here are some the questions I posed to Jonathan during our brief interview. I have also included his comments returned back to me and some returning questions and comments I had for him as well.
Question: "Jonathan, how is it that you consider someone stating they are a true expert SEO provider how is it that they can prove their self-imposed expert SEO rating as an expert in this industry? "
Answer: "First of all thank you for interviewing me Kathryn. Its my pleasure to be speaking with you now. I too notice that there are a lot of professed experts in every area of the country not just here in my home town of Waco but all over the world in fact. I always take a look at the service providers own site and if their site has a page rank and is ranking at least one term then they're good. I also look for client results and someone I can talk to regarding actual expert SEO work that they have done for others. If they cannot prove results then they are not an expert it is as simple as that! I do propose to be an expert SEO Waco Texas service provider and I can prove results."
Comment by myself: "Great answer Jonathan. I understand you are indeed an expert SEO Waco Texas provider. As a full service SEO provider what do your clients expect most? I know that is a question you probably get a lot in your line of business because I also get it a lot. I hear it every single day, clients wanting to know exactly what they getting for the price they pay. Knowing what a client demands and expects in any business is important."
Answer: "Results! That is what clients expect most. Quick answer but I have a story behind the quick answer. Quick results and a fair price is what clients want. It's not always easy to coordinate quick results with a great price.
As the saying goes, 'You get what you pay for'. When a boutique client approaches me to do his or her SEO they are expecting to pay a bigger price for your knowledge and experience. Low-balling a price is never good in this situation as you would lose the better enterprise clients. There are always going to be a bronze level client that cannot afford to pay for the gold or platinum SEO service packages and who needs a better deal.
I look at it from a return on investment standpoint. If the client is selling wedding planning services at a price point of 'x' amount of dollars compared to a client who is selling home improvements it becomes obvious that the Wedding planner client will not make the high dollar quick return on investment such as the home improvement company selling services for 10 thousand dollars a pop. I can easier give the Wedding Planners Toronto term client a better price as the return on investment would justify. Just using the local term 'Canada' in the phrase makes the term that much easier whereby the term 'wedding planner" by itself would be more competitive and harder to rank.
The bottom line is that the client wants a full service SEO provider to sell the entire bundle from start to finish i.e., keyword and competitor research, content creation, specific niche link building and social media is super important these days!
I know that was a long answer but that pretty much covers it all! Results with a great price that's what clients expect."
Comment by myself: "Your answer brought up so many other questions. I myself am considered an expert in my business yet at times I fall short and slip in the rankings. What part does research play in staying ahead of the game? Is it possible for a so-called expert to slip? I have many fell short a few times and yet I always regain position. Google and its constant updates are hard to stay abreast are they not? I know that was more than one question but can you give me an overview of how hard it is to stay ahead of Google?"
Answer: "Great questions Kathryn. Indeed even an expert mechanic can give a wrong diagnoses from time to time. I agree that an expert provider can fall some terms from time to time especially with all the constant updates. I totally agree. You are correct in saying that where there is a basis of good solid SEO having been done for a site and its terms you can always re-rise a terms position. Google updates are meant for good reason. They are meant to get good solid search results. If your site has a good foundation then you can rise again. If you have changed a sites template and confused urls in the process then that is an all together different story. No one calling their service 'expert' would do that as they are fully aware of the SEO complications to changing an entire sites structure and urls.
Staying ahead of Google updates is almost magic. A real strategist knows how to think technically and what would be good or not so good for a website. I can give you an example. Years ago when it was cool to build literally thousands of links it is now 'not cool'. Google placed a lot of value on quantity links at one time and now place value on just the opposite. Having 50 high domain authority links, great site links is better than 1000 spam links placed simply for links.
As a matter of fact those type of links these days will hurt your site greatly. High quality link building with a natural growth and combination of do-follow and no-follow links is best. Keeping ahead of Google is as simple as doing your site right straight out of the gate. A great site with a solid link structure and good offsite content placed on great niche high domain authority sites is what will make a sites SEO better than the rest. This probably sounds like a lot of technical jargon but its pretty simple if you think about it. Build a great site and they will come if you have it properly optimized and well positioned in Google."
End of interview.
