Only in submission are we able to bring our spirit to a place where it no longer controls us. Only submission can free us sufficiently to enable us to distinguish between the things of God and the things of the wicked one. This simply means we are too stiff-necked to submit to God or those who are in authority. Rather, we try to do things on our own.
The prefix “sub” means “under” as in submarine, or substitute. When we submit we come under someone else’s authority. Being submissive does not mean being weak. It means following the commands of the Bible to be subject to the governing authorities (Romans 5:29) or other persons in the position of authority.
Everybody has to submit to someone else. There is always someone above us in many areas of our lives. Even Jesus submitted to His Father. A very good example of that is what happened on the cross. When Jesus said, “Into thine hand, I commit my Spirit” He was submitting to His Father
Unless and until we are willing to submit, we will never experience the presence of God in our lives. In order to get all of God we need to give Him all of ourselves by totally submitting to Him and His commandments.
If you want to be transformed, then practice submission and see how quickly your life will change.
