Every Christian should read the scriptures for inner strength. Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” That means reading the word of God helps us see in the dark.
Reading the Bible is unlike any other book. When we read the Bible, the author is with us to reveal to us what He has said. Read the Bible daily to gain strength to come against the evil one as Jesus did. Be able to say, “It is written...” to fit your situations (Matthew 4:4).
You can experience the presence of God through daily reading of the scriptures, through studying the scriptures, through meditating on the scriptures and surely through obeying the scriptures.
There are many promises recorded throughout the scriptures. God expects us to read His word to know what is written therein. We should be like the Bereans and search the Scriptures for ourselves (Acts 17:11). Experiencing the presence of God comes from our reading the Bible instead of relying on others to tell us what’s in the Bible.
When we get to heaven God is going to ask, “Did you read my book?” Let’s be able to say, “Yes, God I read, studied, meditated and obeyed your Word.”
