The temperatures are turning from colder to warmer and that means it is time for an event that is synonymous with warm weather in the Brandywine Valley: Fireworks and Fountains at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Fireworks and Fountains is an event that occurs each and every summer at Longwood Gardens, with it occurring 5 times in the summer of 2014. It is event that symbolizes the beginning, middle and end of warm weather in the Brandywine Valley as the sky is lit up with dazzling fireworks and colorful dancing fountains from the spring, through the summer and into the fall.
The event is one of the most popular ones at Longwood Gardens and is also one of the hardest tickets to get. Each Fireworks and Fountains has a different and unique musical theme that will appeal to any age and will be sure to wow. The first show kicks off on May 24 with a Big Band and Broadway theme.
Of course, this is followed by the annual July 4 show that will appeal to your patriotic side with several selections that are pure Americana. This followed two short weeks later on July 19 with the Fireworks and Fountains set to a theme of classical music from Tchaikovsky.
Mamma Mia! If you are an ABBA fan, then come to the Fireworks and Fountains show on August 16 that will feature songs from the popular disco era band. This is followed on August 30 by a show featuring selections from famous Russian composer Rachmanimoff.
The summer Fireworks and Fountains season ends with a bang on September 13 with songs from arguably the most popular band of our time: The Beatles.
