Experience Old Italy at Renault Winery and the Tuscany House Hotel

Renault Winery is located at 72 North Bremen Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ  08205, across the street from the gorgeously scenic Tuscany House Hotel. I stayed at the hotel last July and fell in love with the Italian décor, amazing service, and beautiful grounds. This article is not about one restaurant in particular, but about the entire dining experience at Renault Winery and the Tuscany House Hotel, which are collaborative establishments. Renault Winery is one of the oldest operating wineries in New Jersey, being nearly a century and a half old.   The grounds are breathtaking as vineyards spread backward beyond the winery into an amazingly vast and green golf course.  They offer delicious wines and related items in their shop and they conduct personalized tours throughout the actual winery so that visitors can see how wine and champagne are made, taste test fabulous Renault creations, and learn about/experience the winery’s history. The tour guide escorts you through the wine-making room and gives a tutorial on the differences in producing wine and champagne. He also takes you through an amazingly attractive hallway lined with gorgeous wooden planks and ivy vines all decorated with subtle lights, perfect for weddings and romantic getaways. My favorite items that I had the pleasure of testing were the blueberry champagne and Pink Lady wine. Outside of the winery are beautiful fountains, handsome pathways, gazebos, and sitting areas overlooking the vast vineyard, golf course, and various ponds. The Tuscany House Hotel, located on the street adjacent to Renault Winery, is an Italian inspired hotel with luxurious furnishings, villa-like rooms, and superior service. When you walk into the hotel, you look up and see a custom painted, Roman-inspired portrait. Renault and the Tuscany House Hotel also contain Mediterranean marble, tile, and old woods with gorgeous fountains and patios overlooking an almost Greek-like goddess pool. Each room is unique with a European feel to make guests feel comfortable and fresh.  The hotel is modest in size, but massive in aesthetics, which is perfect for a quiet romantic weekend getaway away from the crowds that flock to the shore.    It contains two great restaurants, Joseph’s Restaurant and Renault’s Gourmet Restaurant. Joseph’s is a casual dining area with more modest, yet still pricy, menu options.  They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, with dinner consisting of seafood, steaks, and other Italian foods.  The portions were certainly generous, but dinner prices range from $16.00 to $30.00 being that they are a higher end establishment. The Gourmet Restaurant offers Friday buffets, brunches, and six course meals.  It is even pricier than Joseph’s with dinner meals costing about $45.00 on average.  Still, Joseph’s food is extremely appetizing and there are many cheaper options one could choose should they need to watch their wallet.  The scenery, friendly staff, and excellent wine more than make up for the higher cost in dining. Basically, if you’re looking to get away for a weekend to experience great East Coast dining, a beautiful European-inspired hotel, and tantalizing tasty wines, Renault Winery and the Tuscany House Hotel is the place to go!
