Experience love and grief with beloved 'Narnia' author C.S. Lewis

Denver Performing Arts Complex

Shadowlands hits the Space Theatre this Friday (28 March) with performances through April 27.

Join the beloved creator of The Chronicles of Narnia in a biography detailing his experience with the love and loss of his American fan—and wife—Joy Gresham. Shadowlands originated as a BBC television film (1985). Later adaptations include the 1993 film starring Anthony Hopkins, the stage play, and a book written by the BBC film's “consultant,” Brian Sibley.

When Gresham's trip to England results in a formal meeting with Lewis, the pair discover their differing minds inspire each other to take on fresh perspectives of the world. Their eventual marriage takes a toll, however, after Gresham is diagnosed with cancer. The revelation stirs Lewis's own faith as he prepares for the grief that lies ahead.

Performances start at 6:30pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 7:30 Fridays-Saturdays, with weekend matinees at 1:30. Tickets are available here. The show runs about 2.5 hours, including a 15-minute intermission.
