It will be a "moo"-ving experience when visitors attend historic Sauder Village's annual Dairy Days celebration being held from Tuesday, June 17 through Sunday, June 22 in Archbold, Ohio. It is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Cleveland.

Dairy Days Celebrating National Dairy Month and the role dairy played in the lives of the early pioneers and the role it plays in our lives today, Sauder Village's Dairy Days event will feature dairy-themed demonstrations and activities that all ages can enjoy. Among some of the activities that will be offered during the 6-day celebration will be making buttermilk biscuits, cheese making and butter churning.

Visitors will also be able to help make ice cream (Crank that handle!) and watch cream separating and dairy-related cooking demonstrations. Historic recipes will also be available for guests to take home.

If you attend Sauder Village's Dairy Days on Saturday, June 21 you will also be able to see their special "Tractors, Tractors, Tractors" display of historic tractors (from the 1920's to 1960's) featuring brands like John Deere, Silver King and International Harvester. There will also be tractor pedal pulls for the children to enjoy.

Hours for the Sauder Village events are 10 a.m - 5 p.m. Tuesday- Saturday and noon - 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults and $8 for students. Parking is free.

A Bit About Sauder Village Historic Sauder Village was established by Eric J. Sauder, the founder of Sauder Woodworking Company (featuring ready-to-assemble furniture). Made up of several historic areas, visitors can witness such activities as sheep shearing, planting, harvesting, food preparation, old printing techiniques, canning and preserving and cooking demonstrations during the course of the seasons.

For those wishing to stay overnight, the Sauder Heritage Inn offers queen/queen rooms, king rooms and suites. Room rates start at $110 per night with AAA, military and senior discounts available. A free upscale continental breakfast is included. The Inn also features an indoor pool with a waterfall, a hot tub and exercise rooms.
