Enjoy a funnel cake or a restaurant taste this weekend.
It was a short week, but according to Facebook status updates, the people are still ready for the weekend. There are plenty of festivals going on, so take the family to see one or two of these:
Stone Mountain's Yellow Daisy Festival starts Thursday, September 10th. Peruse booths, listen to music, enjoy the ambience and consider climbing the mountain. The Yellow Daisy Festival ends Sunday.
The Atlanta Arts Festival is Saturday and Sunday at Piedmont Park from 10:00 am until 7:00 and 6:00 pm, respectively. See chalk art and demonstrations; hear bucket drums and Andean music; and smell and / or taste festival food all while enjoying, and quite possibly purchasing, a few fine arts and crafts. Booth artists are from all over, but definitely check out those of the locals, including Jana Epstein, Cheryl Myrbo, and Katherine Linn.
The Kennesaw Business Association is hosting a Taste of Kennesaw Saturday, September 12, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm, with live music and activities for children. Restaurants throughout Cobb County will offer food samples that will cost between $1.00 and $3.00. The festival will benefit 4 local causes. Kids will enjoy the rock wall, inflatables and train rides. The festival is located at 2829 Cherokee Street in Kennesaw 30144.
The Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival will take place at Turner Field's Green Lot on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Enjoy barbecue, children's activities, vendor booths, and blues and bluegrass artists. Parking is $10.00.
The High Museum concludes its Indian Film Festival with 4 films this weekend. The films will be shown at the Rich Theatre, with the first, Salaam Bombay, showing Friday at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $7.00.
The forecast is showing clear with temperatures in the mid-80's, by Saturday, so plan to attend a festival this weekend.
