The epic summer series 'Expedition Impossible,' from executive producer Mark Burnett, premieres on Thursday, June 23, 2011 (9:00 - 10:00 p.m. ET) on ABC. 'Expedition Impossible is a show about ordinary people doing the extraordinary in the biggest adventure of their lives. The adventure show is hosted by adventurer, zoologist, big cat trainer and all around risk taker Dave Salmoni, according to a June 6, 2011 press release from ABC.
"Expedition Impossible" follows 13 teams of 3, in an expedition in the fabled kingdom of Morocco. The adventurers will cross vast deserts, climb snow capped mountains and go through raging rivers. The teams will learn about their adventures in stages.
The team members will be motivated to encourage each other because if one tem member quiis, the entire team will be eliminated. The winning team will win $150,000, which will about to $50,000 per team member. Plus, the team members will received a new Ford Explorer.
On the premiere episode, "Sun! Sand! Sahara!," the 13 teams set out on the adventure of a lifetime across the ancient kingdom of Morocco, battling rugged terrain, untamable animals and each other. After facing the sand dunes of the Sahara and the cliffs of Todra Gorge, one team will be eliminated.
"Expedition Impossible" was created by Mark Burnett, who also serves as executive producer with Lisa Hennessy. Both the television show and format will be distributed internationally by Mark Burnett International Distribution.
