A Daily Word from the Word for Monday, January 13, 2014
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My [Jesus] Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”- Mark 16:17-18
Do you believe in God’s miraculous and wonder-working power, my brother? Are you seeing the possible break through the impossible for you, my sister? If not, you should! As sons and daughters of the Most Infinite Father, we should be pregnant with expectation! Our spirits should constantly be energized with anticipating breakthrough!
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! (Hebrews 13:8). Nothing, no thing, is impossible for The Ancient of Days—the Great I AM! (Luke 1:37).
While I was driving to work one day last week, I passed by a hearse, which was traveling in the next lane. As I drove by, the Lord spoke to me and said “There will come a time very soon, where my faithful sons and daughters, who have been tested, tried, and approved, who have stood and withstood the test of time and prevailed because of their obedience, will ride by a hearse, and My Glory that they will carry will cause the dead in the caskets to sit up! Wherever they go, by virtue of My Glory, miracles, signs, and wonders will follow!” In terms of prophetic time, “very soon” means 1-3 years.
What a powerful promise! And do you know what? Because God spoke it, I believe it! I am waiting expectantly for the manifestation of what the Creator uttered to my spirit; which lines up with His Word found in the Bible.
John 14:12-14 testifies of this powerful truth, as it proclaims “Most assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
We complicate and hinder God’s promises from coming to fruition in our lives when we try to rationalize. Rationalization is a faith-killer for sure. Instead, we must approach the Father’s promises with childlike faith. Jesus Christ, the Living Word, directs us, as He declares “Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus is speaking of having pure faith that has not been contaminated by intellectualism; which can receive, walk, and operate in the promises of God. Faith believes what God said, period, end of story. If God said it, I believe it.
The Apostle Paul testifies “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). The Kingdom of God is built on the Word of God; just as the earth was breathed forth from God’s Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He [Jesus] was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:1-3).
Apostle Guillermo Maldonado spoke the truth when he stated “A doctrine doesn’t move our spirit—revelation does.” Are you dead in your doctrine, family? Then call forth a move of God’s Holy Spirit to resurrect you! Lay hands on yourself and command, like Jesus did, “Lazarus, come forth!” Learn to let the Word of God do the work! It is God Who watches over His word to perform it! After all, the Creator’s Word will never return to Him void! (Jeremiah 1:12, Isaiah 55:11).
Do you believe what God says, or what the world says? It boils down to the simple truth that God is Who He said He is, and can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His Holy Spirit Who is at work within every believer (Ephesians 3:20). The world will break its word every time; but in God, every promise is ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’ (2 Corinthians 1:20). It’s so simple even a child can understand it.
Father, thank You for Your Promises, which are always ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen!’ Holy God, we call on You, by Your Most Holy Spirit, to spark our spirits! Like the father in Mark 9:14-29, we also cry out “Lord, I believe! Help my unbelief!” And we receive in our spirits the sure promise of the Savior: “all things are possible to those who believe” (Mark 9:23). In Jesus Name, we thank You that we walk, in childlike faith, by Your Word. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to break through the limitations of rationalization and intellectualism, and soar to new heights on the wings of childlike faith. Choose to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). And continue to fight the good fight of believing what God said despite your circumstances; for God, your Divine Breakthrough, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
