Expect a bust in a good way at Vice Magazine opening

Vice Magazine

Might want to swankify a bit for Vice Magazine's exhibit launch this weekend, as you'll arrive to find complimentary valet, an open bar, and free copies of the enigmatic street glamor/fringe politics digest waiting.  Vice just released its "2009 Vice Magazine Photo Issue," and has transplanted the work of photographers Jamie Lee Curtis Taete, Maggie Lee, and Tim Barber to the Scion Space for the next two weeks to commemorate it.  Barber's work follows the exploits of a purple-haired urban youth, ostensibly named Heather, who wears a profanity-laden Blue Velvet t-shirt in one shot and goes topless above the city in another.  Toplessness is apparently next to godliness in the eyes of the magazine's editors, who manage to pack more boobs into the issue than page numbers.  And did I mention the free liquor and valet service?  Is this really happening, or am I having that dream again?  Gallery opens Saturday night, 7pm-10pm at the Scion Installation, 3521 Helms Avenue (at National) in Culver City.
