Here is a great set of videos that shows the progressive and strangely retro bright green thinking of the car company Lotus -- who just designed a new special edition Lotus Elise exotic sports car (see photo left).
Get this -- Lotus designers readily say they got the idea to use [marijuana, cannabis] hemp based products to improve the quality of their latest prototype car from the long dead celebrity Henry Ford. Yes -- the auto giant.
Except they have added a groovy new pot leaf logo on the car... a stoner icon that did not become popular in pop culture until the 60s and 70s.
When Henry Ford had the bright green idea to build a Hemp Car back in the early 40s, it went up in smoke when the U.S. Government made the use of cannibis for industrial hemp products illegal in the 50s.
Now it is the perfect vehicle for eco friendly stars like Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey -- two of the world's most famous hot green celebrities.
Editorial Note: And you thought all classic American cars were stodgy and boring and bad for the environmet.
HEMP CAR BY FORD AND LOTUS
Did you know they are toying with the idea of producing a hemp car based upon the bright green ideas of early auto manufacturing leader Henry Ford?
Ford believed that going green by using more recycled and bio-degradable products was the way to go. He totally endorsed the idea of using bio-fuels and thought carbon based engines would be obsolete by functional necessity -- and that car companies should let the idea of using them go.
Back in the 1940s, Ford (one of the biggest celebrities of his day and a green celebrity in ours) had designed a Hemp car.
Now, taking his cue, Lotus is doing the same thing. [Cue audience applause here.]
WHY GREEN BUILDING HEMP CARS IS A BRIGHT GREEN IDEA
Watch the video below to learn how and why hemp products used in manufacturing can help auto makers design a brighter green, even faster, and more efficient sports car.
GOING GREEN: HEMP CAR IS SMOKING HOT
Think lighter, faster, stronger... and since cannabis can be grown easily by hydroponics, there is no need to use a great deal of now scarce arable top soil to have endless crop supplies grow.
This hot little car even harnesses the power of solar and uses water based paint that is much better for the environment.
Hemp Cars: an idea whose time has finally come.
Re-tweet this link to let the car companies know you think using
marijuana as an industrial product is a smart decision
so the plans for production don't go up in smoke
the way they did for Henry Ford.
