Exclusive: Bahamas beauty queens reveal R Kelly's island desire

(Nassau, The Bahamas) From a hotel room overlooking the famous turquoise colored Bahamian waters, I got the inside scoop direct from Miss Bahamas World, Deandra Bannister and Miss Bahamas Universe, Celeste Marshall as to what he whispered to them as the thing he is anxious to do in paradise. I caught up with the ladies between their hectic schedule as they got set for R Kelly’s all-white party. The Step in The Name Of Love party was a lead up to R Kelly’s first Bahamian concert, set for February 23, 2013. The queens will be cohosting the pre-concert event.

With their crowns and sashes off, they finally put aside their queenly demeanors and gushed about meeting the R&B singer/songwriter who has been on their both their playlists for years.

“I asked him what took so long to get here,” admitted 24 year-old Deandra who has long been waiting for a chance to attend an R Kelly concert to dance to her favorite song, Happy People. “He said that he hadn’t been on a real vacation in a while and was going to make sure he had a little vacation time on this trip. He was tired but really glad to be here and from what he’s seen he likes what he’s seen so far.”

“It was pretty casual conversation,” added Celeste. “I was surprised he said that he’s never been in The Bahamas. I am just looking forward to the crowd to see their love and support for R Kelly. But as for my favorite R Kelly songs – there are so many. I’m going to say I love I Wish, The Storm Is Over, Radio Message and Happy People.”

The ladies showcased Bahamian hospitality before the press conference with local media and were quick to invite R. Kelly to taste local delicacies from some of their favorite restaurants. However, the hitmaker seemed to have one thing on his mind when the the three of them were noticed whispering together.

“The beach!” the ladies laughed. “He can’t wait to go on the beach and all he wanted to talk about was the beach.”

“We tried to talk about our food but he kept going to the beach,” said Deandra. “I also gave him the heads up that Bahamians don’t harass celebrities because we aren’t so start struck and want them to enjoy their time without crazy fans. He laughed and said a little harassment is fine.”

Celeste added that she recommended Saunders Beach or Cabbage Beach.

R Kelly certainly chose the correct persons to talk beach with as these two ladies both landed on the hot list for sexy swimsuit bodies.
