EXIT Success Realty, Warner Robins, GA, is seeking your assistance in raising money for Corporal Griffin Fitzgerald, a local soldier who lost his leg in Afghanistan, on April 12, 2011, when he stepped on an IED . In addition to losing his right leg, Griffin also received extensive burns and shrapnel wounds.
Griffin and his wife Tracy are expecting their first child next month.
Griffin Fitzgerald is a Purple Heart recipient who was involved in another IED incident in Iraq, in December of 2007.
According to his website:
Corporal Fitzgerald joined the Army in May, 2007. He reported to Fort Benning, Georgia from his home in Warner Robins, Georgia where he attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as an infantryman. He received orders to Fort Drum, New York and reported on September 11th, 2007. He deployed a month later to Iraq with the 1st Battalion 87th Infantry during operation Iraqi Freedom VI in Delta Company. He was in a catastrophic IED incident December 21st, 2007 in which he received a Purple Heart. He also received The Army Commendation Medal for exceptionally Meritorious Service as a Saw Gunner while conducting combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His actions and dedication to duty directly contributed to the success of the 1st Brigade Combat Team.
A garage sale will be held on Saturday June 25th, 8am - 1pm at: 104 Borders Way, Warner Robins, GA. All proceeds will go to the Fitzgerald family.
