Exhaustion cited as possible cause in Chuck Berry collapse

Chuck Berry had a scary moment last night in Chicago, after apparently passing out at his keyboardThe Los Angeles Times, in a blog post, cited exhaustion as a possible cause. Berry had performed two shows on Friday night, it said.

As you can see in the video at left, he came out 20 minutes later and talked to the audience. He apparently didn't play, though he seemed to indicate he wanted to.

Hopefully, as the L.A Times indicated, it's no more than exhaustion. Rest up, Chuck. Our thoughts are with you. You are one of the founders of rock 'n' roll.

And if anyone can be called King (no offense, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Michael Jackson or Howard Stern ... well, maybe Stern), you can, Mr. Berry. Get well, please.  (Thanks to Rock Singer for the video link.)

I genuinely had no idea he was still around and kicking. Good on him!

Chuck Berry was no Elvis Presley. A great rock 'n' roller but nothing else. He did not have a very good singing voice. Don't forget it was the general public who bestowed the title 'King' on Elvis. Elvis could sing in virtually any musical genre he attempted and do it well. He was the whole package. Having said this I hope Chuck takes it easy for a couple of weeks. I have seen him many times on stage over the years and he is one of the legends of rock 'n' roll. However, rock 'n'roll is a young person's game and will always remain so.

Many have used the term "King" with their name. Some more deserving than others. That said, I agree as well that Chuck should take it easy. He's a national treasure.
